North Cackalacky!

I know all you people really want to see are pictures so I will keep it short.

So after my little bumper extravaganza I did finally make it to Sugar Mountain. Guess what it was doing at Sugar Mountain...Raining! At least the uphill on this course was still rideable. The climb was all up hill (that's a bit redundant, huh?)anyways, it consisted of a long fire road, followed by pavement, followed by fire road, followed by gravel road, followed by pavement. We even road through a condominum parking lot! This was then all followed by the most technical descent I have ever seen on a XC race course, which I proceeded to ride like a small child. It's really weird how sometimes you can ride the most amazing technical sections then you come up on something that is almost if not totally easier and for some reason your head just can't get around it.

During the warm-up I proceeded to whine like a little baby because I couldn't get my heart rate up, I even called my coach who basically told me to shut up and quite my whining and get on the freaking bike and race. The first lap was horrible and I was clear down in the 50's (don't ask) But at the start of the second lap my legs felt fantastic and my head started to come together...I was eventually able to climb myself back up to the 30's. Now if I could just put all these pieces together, I might one day have a great race.

Short track was really hard! Had a nice long climb in it followed by a screaming fast downhill that heads you into a 180 degree turn. But it was fun and I had a pretty good race from start to finish except for the first lap where I cutt in to sharp on a turn and washed out pretty good. But still managed to stay in the race.

My new ride
